Maria L. Parra is a registered dietitian with the Food and Nutrition Department and provides nutritional consultations at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Ms. Parra then completed a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics at Florida International University in Miami. Her clinical interests include weight management, sports nutrition and eating disorders.
Ms. Parra is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Sports and Human Performance Nutrition’s Dietetic Practice Group.
Ms. Parra is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multi-specialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
