Pediatric Orthopedic Spine Surgeon
Dr. George is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He joined Nicklaus Children's in 2015 and is a pediatric orthopedic spine surgeon with the Nicklaus Children’s Center for Spinal Disorders and Orthopedic Surgery Program. Dr. George earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, New York. He then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. George pursued a research fellowship at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He then acquired advanced training with an additional fellowship in complex spinal deformity surgery at the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York City. His clinical interests include scoliosis and other complex spinal deformities.
Dr. George is board certified in orthopedic surgery. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at conferences both nationally and globally. Dr. George is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Florida Orthopaedic Society, J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, Scoliosis Research Society and Harms Study Group, a pediatric spinal deformity research group.
Dr. George sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Main Campus, Nicklaus Children’s Miramar Outpatient Center and Nicklaus Children’s West Kendall Outpatient Center.
As one of the largest and most comprehensive pediatric orthopedic practices in Florida, The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Orthopedic Surgery Program skillfully provides state-of-the-art and compassionate care for athletes of all levels. With the assistance of a dedicated support staff, our pediatric orthopedic surgeons perform over 1,500 surgical procedures each year. The department also conducts an additional 34,000 outpatient visits annually, including the management of more than 6,000 fracture cases and is world-renown for its spinal surgery program.
