Dr. Cotilla joined Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, part of Nicklaus Children’s Health System, in 2016. He has served since 2003 as a physician within the Division of Infectious Diseases at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Cotilla earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Montserrat, British West Indies. His pediatric residency was completed at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship training in infectious diseases at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Cotilla has a broad interest in infectious diseases, with a particular interest in the treatment and management of HIV patients. His main research and investigative work focused on the approval of new HIV medications and treatment modalities in the pediatric population. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases.
 
 
Dr. Cotilla sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
