Dr. Swirsky is a Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Nicklaus Children's Hospital who specializes in sports medicine. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. After receiving his medical degree, he served as a resident and chief resident in orthopaedic surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. He is the medical director of one of the largest youth football leagues in South Florida as well as a soccer league in Broward County.
Dr. Swirsky has participated in numerous research studies, published articles and lectured on topics pertaining to orthopedics and rehabilitation. He also has a diversified background in both medicine and rehabilitation. While at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Swirsky worked as an attending physician in both the Emergency Department and also in Hyperbaric Medicine. He also has a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy and a certificate in Athletic Training. He has cared for athletes at all levels from young children to professionals. He has worked with the Florida Panther Hockey Team, the US Womens National Divers, the Fort Lauderdale National Swimmers and Divers, as well as the University of Miami and University of Florida Football Teams. Dr. Swirsky volunteers his time with High School Athletes in Dade County. His interests are in sports medicine, cutting edge arthroscopic, open and minimally invasive procedures, Injury prevention and rehabilitation.
