Dr. Janelle Torres is a pediatrician with the Division of Primary Care at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Torres completed a residency in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. During her residency, Dr. Torres co-founded ENRICH Story Time, a community outreach initiative that partners pediatric residents with local libraries to provide health education for children and families through interactive, literacy-based programming. She also served as assistant co-chair of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Residents and Trainees Committee, where she participated in legislative advocacy efforts, meeting with Florida legislators during Children's Week to advocate for policies that promote the health and well-being of children. Her clinical interests include preventive health, medical education, community outreach and legislative advocacy.
 
Dr. Torres is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians and American Osteopathic Association. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and professional educational resources. She has presented at regional and national medical conferences on pediatric quality improvement, mental health, and preventive care.
 
Dr. Torres is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
