Sandeep P. Dave, MD, FACS
Chief, Section of Pediatric Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery
Board Chairman and Medical Director, Nicklaus Children's Ambulatory Surgery Center
Pediatric Otolaryngologist

Dr. Sandeep P. Dave is a board-certified pediatric otolaryngologist and one of the most experienced pediatric ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Since joining Nicklaus Children’s in 2007, he has performed more than 16,500 surgeries over two decades and cared for children within the full spectrum of pediatric ear, nose and throat conditions, from common concerns such as ear infections, hearing problems, tonsil and adenoid disease, snoring and sleep apnea, to more complex airway, ear and head and neck conditions.

Dr. Dave’s clinical interests include pediatric obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing, tonsil and adenoid surgery, ear tube placement, tympanic membrane repair, chronic ear disease, pediatric head and neck conditions, and comprehensive pediatric ENT care.

Parents often meet Dr. Dave at moments of worry: when their child is not sleeping well, struggling to hear, having recurrent infections, facing a possible surgery or dealing with a more complex condition. His approach is to listen carefully, explain medical information in plain language, and help families understand their child’s diagnosis and treatment options. He believes surgery should be recommended thoughtfully, performed safely and supported by a team that communicates with families before, during and after care.

Dr. Dave recognizes that visits to a specialist, especially when surgery is being discussed, can be stressful for families. His goal is to make sure parents understand their child’s condition, know the available options and feel comfortable with the plan of care. He emphasizes clear explanations, thoughtful decision-making and ongoing communication with the care team so families feel supported from the first visit through recovery. Dr. Dave says that when a child needs ear, nose, throat or airway care, parents want more than medical expertise. They want experience, sound decision-making, compassion and the reassurance that their child is in the hands of someone they can trust.

Families consistently describe Dr. Dave as thorough, professional and patient with questions. Reviews often highlight his clear explanations, careful surgical guidance and ability to help parents feel reassured during stressful moments in their child’s care.

As chief of the Section of Pediatric Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, Dr. Dave has helped build one of South Florida’s leading pediatric ENT programs. Under his leadership, the division has grown into a comprehensive, access-focused team of fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologists, advanced practice providers and specialized support staff. The program has expanded access for families, improved patient experience, grown regional surgical volume and is developing advanced programs in pediatric sleep-disordered breathing, chronic ear disease and hearing restoration, pediatric head and neck surgery, and complex airway care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Dave serves as board chairman and medical director of the Nicklaus Children’s Ambulatory Surgery Center, where he has helped shape a pediatric surgical environment focused on safety, efficiency, teamwork and an exceptional experience for children and families. From 2015-2022, he also served on the Board of Directors for Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the health system’s physician-led multispecialty medical group practice.

Dr. Dave’s training reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence. He graduated with distinction and was awarded for top-tier academic standing from Cornell University with a degree in Applied Economics and Business Management. He earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, graduating with the highest academic standing in his class and earning election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his general surgery internship and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Dave is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He has been recognized by Castle Connolly Top Doctors®, Best Doctors in America®, Vitals Patient’s Choice Award, Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award and America’s Most Honored Professionals - Top 1%.
