Founded in 1950 by Variety Clubs International, Nicklaus Children's Hospital is South Florida's only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, with nearly 800 attending physicians and more than 475 pediatric subspecialists. Nicklaus Children's Hospital was designated as a Magnet organization in 2003, 2008, and 2013 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. In October 2018, Nicklaus Children's Hospital is applying for redesignation. Patients, family members, staff, and interested parties who would like to provide comments are encouraged to do so.
