How can I make a reservation at the Devonshire Apartments?
Unfortunately, we are unable to make reservations due to the high need for lodging. We place families on a waiting list and we can confirm if lodging will be available as early as 3 days before admission.
Who can request lodging at the Devonshire Apartments?
Families of patients admitted to inpatient units may request lodging at the Devonshire Apartments.
How long can I stay at the Devonshire Apartments?
Families may stay at the apartments for the length of admission. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate lodging for families once the patient is discharged.
How do I request lodging at the Devonshire Apartments?
You may submit a Request for Lodging online or by calling our office at 305-669-5861.
Where do I check in/out?
Check in is done Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our office, located at the main campus. We are in the Patient/Family Services Department in the second floor.

How are the floor plans for the apartments?
The Devonshire Apartments have 2 settings:
- Shared apartments:
- 2 or 3 bedroom apartments
- each family is given keys to the apartment and to their own room
- kitchen and living room are common areas
- depending on the set up, you may share the bathroom with another family
- Private apartments:
- Studios or 1-Bedroom apartments
- All areas are private
What are the rates for the rooms/apartments?
The rate for the shared apartment is between $20-$25 per night. The rate for the private apartment is between $30-$35 per night.
How many guests can stay in the room/apartment?
Our rooms/apartments accommodate a maximum of 2-4 guests depending on the size of the room/apartment.
At the hospital, can I stay in the same room with my child?
If your child is in the Central Building (2E, 3E, 3NE), 1 parent may stay in the bedroom.
If your child is in the Tower Pavilion (CICU, PICU, NICU, 5 Tower, 6 Tower), 1-2 parents may stay in the bedroom.
Can I request more than one room/apartment?
Unfortunately, due to the high demand for accommodations close to the hospital, we can only offer one room/ apartment per patient.
Do I need to stay in my room/apartment every night?
We understand unforeseen events may happen some nights. Nonetheless, due to the high demand for rooms/apartments, we ask you to check out if you see you will not be staying at your room/apartment for more than 2 nights.
Are toiletries provided?
Toiletries are not provided at the rooms/apartments. We ask families to provide toiletries for their own personal use.
Are pack & plays and/or cribs provided?
Yes. Pack & play and/or cribs are subject to availability upon request. Please make your request to the office staff.
Are towels and linen provided?
Yes. Towels are provided twice a week, Mondays and Fridays. Linen is provided upon admission but is not replaced during the stay.
Is there a place to do laundry?
Yes. Families are welcome to use the laundry services at the Michael Fux Family Center at the main hospital campus, first floor.
Are housekeeping services provided during our stay?
Although garbage is picked up daily, housekeeping services are not provided during your stay. Rooms/apartments are cleaned by our staff after every discharge in order to prepare for the next family.
What can I expect to have available in the kitchen?
Every kitchen is equipped with at least a 2-burner stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, silverware, dishware, pots and pans, and basic cooking utensils.
Is there parking available at the Devonshire Apartments?
There is limited parking at the Devonshire Apartments. We ask families to limit their use to one parking space. Additional parking is available at the hospital main campus.
Are there shuttles provided to and from the Devonshire Apartments?
There are no shuttles provided. The Devonshire Apartments are conveniently located 2 blocks from the hospital main campus. If you do not have a car, transportation may be provided by the Security Department based on their availability. You may request so by calling 305-669-8585 or ext. 8585.
