Pediatric Hospital Medicine (Hospitalist)
While your child is at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, he or she will be in the care of a member of the Pediatric Healthcare team at Nicklaus Children's Hospital . This team is comprised of physicians from the pediatric hospitalist division and Global Health Services. Each member of the team is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
During your stay, you will see a Pediatric Healthcare physician each day. This physician will lead a team of pediatric residents, subspecialists, nurses, social workers and other members of the healthcare team. He or she will be in contact with your pediatrician to review and update your child’s medical plan of care. After your child goes home, a pediatric healthcare physician will speak to your pediatrician and send a discharge summary to be kept as part of the child’s medical record.
