Laboratory Services for Children with Sleep Disorders
The Sleep Lab at Nicklaus Children’s performs a variety of polysomnography studies including overnight sleep studies. The lab is specially designed for the study of breathing disorders during sleep and other sleep disorders.
The lab is equipped with the state-of-the-art polysomnography equipment and is a diagnostic tool in evaluation and management of children with sleep disorders. All studies are read by board certified sleep specialists.
Pediatric Sleep Studies
During a sleep study, sensors are placed on your child’s head to measure and record the electrical activity of your child's brain during sleep to assess stages of sleep. A sleep technologist monitors your child throughout the night for the quality and quantity of their sleep. Upon completion of the sleep study, our sleep specialists assist with the evaluation and management of the sleep disorder.
