Nicklaus Children’s 2016-17 rankings are as follows:
"The entire Nicklaus Children’s Hospital family is honored to again be recognized for the excellence of our pediatric subspecialty programs,” said Dr. Narendra Kini, CEO of Miami Children’s Health System. “Our leadership is a tribute to our physicians, nurses and staff and their commitment to pediatric care excellence and innovation. We continue to look ahead to new opportunities to serve and innovate to benefit the children and families of the region and beyond.”
Deise Granado-Villar, MD, Chief Academic Officer, Senior Vice President for Medical and Academic Affairs, said, "The commitment to strive for excellence in every aspect of the care offered to children is an unwavering passion for all of us at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Every member of our staff strives daily to advance every aspect of service for the children and families who reach to us for the healing they deserve. It is a privilege to collaborate with such a remarkable team of health professionals, whose knowledge, skills and compassion inspire us to deliver hope to children and families in our community, our state and beyond."
The U.S. News rankings were based on clinical survey data from the nation’s pediatric centers and reputational survey information from pediatric specialists and subspecialists. The Best Children's Hospitals methodology factors in clinical outcomes, efficiency and coordination of the process of care delivery, compliance with "best practices" and steps to control infection and care-related resources such as adequate nursing staff and availability of programs tailored to particular illnesses and conditions.
