After Gabriel experienced pain in his head and loss of balance, his parents rushed him to Nicklaus Children’s. A cancerous mass was discovered and treatment immediately began. Gabriel was diagnosed with an Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid tumor, which is an aggressive type that requires extensive treatment with a high possibility of return. With the support of the amazing Doctors at Nicklaus Children’s, his family, friends, and after completing several rounds of Chemotherapy, Gabriel was able to receive a winner’s welcome that included the trophy from his championship team! Fellow teammates adorned his #16 number during the season, and had won the final game in his honor.
