Andrea's Success Story

Published on: 01/24/2012

“In May of 2008, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the brain stem. I was admitted to the Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital, for surgery and treatment. Unfortunately, they could not remove the tumor—but I am being controlled with MRI's every six months. Nicklaus Children's provided me with the best care and gave my parents support and comfort during this tough process. I am proud to say that I am part of the  Miami Children's Hospital Teen Council. Helping other teens understand the procedures to their surgeries—and on top of this, I am also an MCH Volunteer for the past six years. It's a joy to be part of their family!”
