Shannon Odell Joins Nicklaus Children's Hospital as Chief Nursing Officer

Shannon Odell, MSN, BSN, RNC-OB, NE-BC, has joined Nicklaus Children’s Hospital as Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, she will be responsible for the leadership and management of the nursing department and for the clinical practice of nursing throughout the hospital and its network of outpatient centers. Odell is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 20 years of progressive leadership and management experience. Most recently, she served as executive director of nursing for women’s and children’s services at WakeMed Health and Hospital Systems in Raleigh, NC, managing the clinical, operational and financial outcomes for all associated inpatient units and clinical support services.

Odell is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and an affiliate member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Liberty University and bachelor’s degree from Bemidji State University.
