Dr. Jason E. Portnof is an oral maxillofacial surgeon with the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Craniofacial Center. Dr. Portnof graduated with honors from the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale. He earned an MD from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, where he was trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He received fellowship training in pediatric maxillofacial surgery/craniomaxillofacial surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Portnof is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). His interests include the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on the correction of dentofacial deformities, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and complex dental implantology.

Dr. Portnof serves as the 2018-2019 President of the Florida Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (FCPA), on the Board of Directors of the Florida Dental Society of Anesthesia (FDSA), and the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Committee on Anesthesia (FSOMS). He is also the pediatric consultant to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Committee on Anesthesia.

Dr. Portnof has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented both nationally and internationally. In addition, he has held numerous teaching positions at prestigious universities including Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College, Florida Atlantic University, and his alma mater, Nova Southeastern University, where he is the Director of Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery & Craniomaxillofacial Surgery in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
