Dr. Jaime Edelstein is a senior member of a group of six pediatricians practicing in Coral Gables, and has been an attending at Nicklaus Children's Hospital for over 30 years. Dr. Edestein completed his medical studies at the University of Madrid, Spain. He trained in Pediatrics at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital and Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was a teaching fellowship at the University of New Mexico and at Case Western Reserve. He served in the army medical corps and moved to Miami to work for 3 years at the Comprehensive Health Care Centers in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami.

After that, Dr. Edelstein devoted time to private practice and has kept very close ties with Nicklaus Children's Hospital where he has been teaching and rounding with the Residents for over 25 years. He has also served on many different committees.

Dr. Edelstein is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a founder and Board Member of Hope For Vision, a national organization for research and treatment of retinal degenerative disease.
