Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr. Gilbert A. Smith earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Larkin Community Hospital in Miami, Florida, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Larkin Community Hospital and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include substance abuse, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and trauma, as well as child and adolescent mental health advocacy.

Dr. Smith is board certified in psychiatry. He has presented at medical conferences and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Florida Psychiatric Society and Association of LGBTQ Psychiatrists.
