Elizabeth McElhaney RD, LDN, CDCES
Elizabeth McElhaney is a certified diabetes educator within the Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children’s. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics at Florida International University in Miami. Her clinical specialties include metabolic disorders, weight management and diabetes education and training.
Ms. McElhaney is a member of the American Heart Association, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. She is certified by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a registered dietician.
Ms. McElhaney is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
The Division of Endocrinology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital offers a complete array of diagnostic, treatment and consulting services for infants, children and adolescents with endocrine disorders. The care team is dedicated to fulfilling the medical and support needs of children and their families through a multidisciplinary approach that has helped children from around the world. Consultations with the division’s board-certified endocrinologists are offered at the hospital’s main campus near Coral Gables, as well as at select Nicklaus Children’s outpatient centers located from southern Miami-Dade to Martin counties.
