Sophia C. Hassor, MD, FAAP
Pediatric Hospital Medicine
Dr. Sophia C. Hassor is a pediatric hospitalist within the Division of Hospital Medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Hassor completed a residency in pediatrics and then a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. During her training, she participated in a curriculum development project with Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, conducted a quality improvement project on antibiotic stewardship and was a member of the Clinical Effectiveness Subcommittee. Her clinical interests include topics such as community-acquired pneumonia and osteomyelitis.
Dr. Hassor is board certified in general pediatrics. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at medical conferences. Dr. Hassor is also a co-founder of “The Underwear Fund,” a collaborative project at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital that provides underserved patients with critical items not typically covered by health insurance.
Dr. Hassor is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She speaks English, Spanish and French.
