Dr. Patel earned her medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, New York; and also served as pediatric chief resident at this institution. Dr. Patel then completed fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, part of Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology; and board eligible in pediatric critical care. Dr. Patel is a member of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Children’s Cardiac Critical Care Consortium, American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

Her clinical interests include factors affecting postoperative care of cardiac patients, simulation and medical education. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu.
