Dr. Madril joined Nicklaus Children's Hospital's Heart Institute as a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist in 2004.  She is also a Volunteer Assistant Professor in Anesthesia at the University Of Miami/Miller School of Medicine. Currently, she is a member of the Nicklaus Children’s Operating Room committee and the Surgical Professional Practice Evaluation Policy committee.
 
Prior to joining Nicklaus Children's Hospital, Dr. Madril served as a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist at Children's Hospital Boston and an instructor in Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School. She had extensive experience with heart transplantation cases during her time at Children’s Hospital Boston.
 
Dr. Madril received her BA from Mercer University in 1988 and her MD from Wright State University in 1993.  She completed her internship in anesthesia at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1994. She then completed her residency training in anesthesia at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA, in 1999; where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Madril completed her fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at the Children's Hospital Boston in 2002. During her fellowship she had experience with heart transplantation and completed research in Congenital Complete Heart Block.
 
She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology, is sub-specialty certified in Pediatric Anesthesia and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.  She is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Florida, California, and Massachusetts.
 
Dr. Madril is extremely active in community service. She has donated many hours of service by performing humanitarian medical missions: In the year 2000, she was a volunteer anesthesiologist for Project Interface in La Paz, Mexico performing cleft lip and palate repairs. In 2004, she provided pediatric cardiac anesthesiology services at Hamad Medical Center in Doha, Qatar performing pediatric congenital heart disease repairs. In 2010, she was a volunteer pediatric anesthesiologist providing emergent care for Haiti earthquake victims.
 
Most recently, in 2016, Dr. Madril was a volunteer pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist for La Caja Seguro Social providing services at Hospital del Niño and Hospital Santo Tomás for cardiac electrophysiology cases.  Dr. Madril’s community service also includes active involvement and participation as a member of Mercer University’s Alumni Board, Boy Scouts of America, and Therapy Dogs Incorporated.
