Dr. Felípez is a pediatric gastroenterologist and director of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Research within the
Division of Gastroenterology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining
Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, Dr. Felípez served on the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital medical staff as Lead Investigator of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Felípez earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She completed her residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at The University of Chicago. Dr. Felípez is a researcher for CCFA Partners, a network sponsored by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of American (CCFA) and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She has participated in clinical trials of pediatric IBD medications including infliximab, adalimumab and certilizumab pegol. Her work has been presented at venues such as the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, and Digestive Disease Week. Dr. Felípez’s special interests include IBD, reflux, constipation, celiac disease and eosinophilic esophagitis. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology.
Dr. Felípez sees patients at the
Nicklaus Children’s Aventura Care Center and she is on staff at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
