Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) website, www.mch.com, was honored by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends in its eighth annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards. The site was honored with a Distinction Award for ”Best Rich Media” among hospitals nationwide with 200-399 beds.

“We are delighted to be recognized with this prestigious award for Best Rich Media,” said Lauren Garcimonde-Fisher, Branding Specialist at Miami Children’s Hospital. “For the past two years we have focused on creating a more interactive user experience for all mch.com visitors. As a part of the mch.com redesign, we created new ways of helping users find information on the hospital, therefore helping them understand the hospital and patient experience.”

The Best Rich Media category focuses on video, audio, podcasts, virtual tours, and special interactive applications available on the hospital website. Miami Children's has added numerous interactive features to the website including virtual tours, an interactive department finder, medical service line videos, and a variety of video, audio and downloadable files of recent marketing efforts (television commercials, radio commercials, advertorials, annual reports, etc.).

This is the seventh award MCH website has received from eHealthcare Strategy & Trends since 2002. Previous honors include a Distinction Award for Best Site Design (2002), a Silver Award for Best Site Design (2003), a Silver Award for Best Overall Internet Site (2003), a Silver Award for Best Employee Recruitment (2004), a Gold Award for Best Employee Recruitment (2005), and a Platinum Award for Best Overall Internet Site (2006).

Some 225 healthcare organizations, representing a broad industry spectrum, received recognition for their outstanding Web sites at a special presentation in Las Vegas  on November 4 during the Eleventh Annual Healthcare Internet Conference.  Sites receiving the 2007 eHealthcare Leadership Awards were selected from more than 1,100 entries.  A total of 101 individuals familiar with healthcare and the Internet judged the entries.
