MIAMI — Miami Children’s Hospital has been included in Parents magazine’s 2009 listing of the nation’s “Best Children’s Hospitals.” Miami Children’s is the only hospital in the state of Florida to be included in the ranking.
In order to be considered for ranking, hospitals from across the nation were asked to complete a comprehensive survey developed by Parents magazine. The 250-question survey requested information related to survival rates, numbers of complex procedures performed, research studies, staff qualifications, safeguards to prevent medical errors and more.
Dr. Narendra Kini, President and CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital, said, “Miami Children’s is delighted to be included in the 2009 ‘Best Children’s Hospital’s’ ranking. We commend the magazine for undertaking this project so that parents can make informed decisions regarding the care of their precious children.”
The “Best Children’s Hospitals” survey is conducted and released every two years. Miami Children’s Hospital was ranked #26 in both 2009 and in 2007 when the last survey was published by Child magazine. When Child ceased print operations in early 2008, Parents magazine – owned by the same parent company, Meredith Corporation – took over the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings.
