MIAMI -- Armando Llechu has been promoted to Vice President of Clinical Operations at Miami Children's Hospital. In this role, he oversees a range of hospital services including pharmacy, emergency, radiology, transfer, trauma, vascular access and clinical laboratory.

Among his current undertakings is the expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department (ED), which is one of the top-performing pediatric emergency services in the nation. When the project is complete in early 2015, the ED will have 72 state-of-the-art new and refurbished exam rooms to serve the nearly 100,000 children brought for treatment each year.

Mr. Llechu holds a master's degree in business administration from Florida International University (FIU) and recently received a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from FIU.

"Armando Llechu has been a tremendous asset to our organization," said Martha McGill, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.
