Published on: 12/15/2004
MIAMI, FL — On Friday, December 17th two Miami Children's Hospital (MCH) doctors will hang up their white physician coats, put away their stethoscopes, don their magical capes and pull out their magic wands.

Before your very eyes Dr. Andrew S. Labbie, pediatric urologist, and Dr. Gaston de Cardenas, Chief of Otolaryngology, will transform into “The Amazing Andy” and “The Great Gaston.” Both magicians will perform for the children of MCH at the annual magic show at 2:30 p.m. in the hospital main playroom.

The talented duo have been practicing and performing magic professionally for many years. “It’s difficult for a child to be hospitalized during the holiday season and I wanted to bring a little magic into their day,” said Dr. Labbie. This year’s party will culminate with at visit with Jolly ol’ St. Nick. Santa Claus, who is in dire need of some South Florida sunshine, is scheduled to make a stop at MCH to spread the holiday cheer. “As the elves and I finalize our preparations for the big night, I wanted to take a quick break and visit the wonderful boys and girls of Miami Children's Hospital,” said Mr. Claus.

MEDIA ARE INVITED. Please meet in the hospital’s main lobby.
