Mario Murgado Elected Chair of Miami Children's Health System Board

As chairman, Mr. Murgado will provide fiscal and operational leadership to the health system, which includes the 289-bed nonprofit pediatric hospital, a growing network of nonprofit outpatient centers extending from northern Palm Beach County to southern Miami-Dade County, Pediatric Specialists of America, the system’s employed physician organization; a management services organization and ambulatory surgery center, as well as a line of children’s wellness and safety products.

Mr. Murgado has provided extensive and longstanding leadership to both the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Miami Children’s Health Foundation boards. He first joined the foundation board in 2005, followed by the hospital board in 2008, serving both continuously since the original appointments. Leadership roles in which he has served include: Vice Chair, Chairman of the Finance Committee, and Chairman of the Hospitality and Marketing Committee for the hospital; and Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair for the foundation.
