Miami Children’s Health System and VitalMD Partner to Create Women’s and Children’s Network

Published on: 08/03/2015
MIAMI—Miami Children’s Health System® (MCHS) and VitalMD® Group Holding, LLC (VitalMD), have partnered to develop Florida’s first and only women’s and children’s Clinically Integrated Network, Conecta™ Health Network.

Conecta™ Health Network is the culmination of a concerted effort to improve access to high-quality maternal and pediatric care. A clinically integrated network is a network of providers, hospitals, outpatient facilities and ancillary services working together to improve and maintain the health of the people in their communities. Conecta™ Health Network will bridge the care and access gap that exists in today’s highly fragmented healthcare system by providing an innovative care model to ensure optimal health and wellbeing. This clinically integrated network will enhance the continuity of care as families are supported on their healthcare journey from pregnancy to the growth of their children.

Conecta™ Health Network will combine clinical services provided by independent physician groups, OB/GYNs, hospital-based subspecialists and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive support to the health and wellness needs of women and children across the state. Enabled by real-time medical data sharing capabilities, mutual quality and performance standards, and aligned incentives, the network will yield an immediate and long-lasting positive impact for the mothers and children in our care.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Miami Children’s Health System,” said Dr. Glenn Salkind, President of VitalMD. “This joint venture will enable our organizations to provide greater access to quality care and improve care coordination for our female and pediatric patients.”

“As the region’s leading provider of care services for children, Miami Children’s Health System continuously seeks opportunities to partner to improve the health and well-being of the children of our community and beyond,” said Dr. Narendra Kini, President and CEO of Miami Children’s Health System. “We are delighted to find in VitalMD a collaborator that shares our passion to enhance care quality and access for pediatric patients and their families,” he said.
