Miami Children’s Health System (MCHS) has been named one of the Healthiest Companies in America by Interactive Health, a national leader known for its personalized wellness solutions. MCHS is one of 156 companies across the country being recognized for helping employees make significant and sometimes life-saving changes to improve their health.
With the help of strategic and flexible wellness initiatives, the Healthiest Companies in America recipients have accomplished tremendous success, achieving participation rates in excess of 70 percent and a low-risk health score for their total population, based on rigorous and clinically sound health evaluations.
“We are honored to be recognized as an organization that values the health of our employees and their families. It is part of our commitment to the patients in our care,” said Michael Kushner, Senior Vice President and Chief Talent Officer for Miami Children’s Health system.
MCHS launched the “Healthy Lifestyles” corporate wellness program in 2013 to help employees and their families achieve optimal health through an integrated approach to wellbeing. The program, through the support of Interactive Health, consists of benefits offerings, incentives, support programs, and partnerships with health-oriented organizations to engage and assist employees on achieving optimal health. Through the “Healthy Lifestyles” program, MCHS was able decrease “high risk” health concerns in 40% of its members and maintain 90% of the low to no risk members.
Participants in Interactive Health’s wellness program receive a thorough health evaluation to identify risk and learn about their health status. Through a combination of rapid outreach, connection to personal physicians and tailored resources, a personalized course of action is delivered to the participant resulting in improved or maintained health, leading MCHS to this achievement.
