Miami Children’s Hospital Announces Board of Directors Officers for 2014

MIAMI – The Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) Board of Directors has elected three new officers to serve during the 2014 calendar year. The 17-member panel provides oversight to the 289-bed nonprofit pediatric subspecialty hospital and will oversee its 2014 initiatives.

The newly elected officers are:

Alex Soto

Chairman

Alex Soto, CEO of Insource, Inc., an insurance and financial services firm. Mr. Soto has served on the MCH board for three, including key positions within numerous board committees. He is also a member of the Archdiocese of Miami Trust and has served in top leadership roles with the Florida Association of Insurance Agents, and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA). He is the recipient of IIABA’s 2009 Woodworth Memorial Award for Outstanding Service to the Insurance Industry.
 
Jaret L. Davis

Vice Chair

Jaret L. Davis, Co-Managing Shareholder of the Miami office of Greenberg Traurig, overseeing approximately 160 attorneys and 200 business staff members based in the firm’s founding office. Mr. Davis has served on the MCH board for more than four years. He has received numerous professional awards and accolades, most recently having been selected as a finalist for the Daily Business Review 2013 “Top Dealmaker of the Year – Corporate Finance Category” and among the Daily Business Review 2013 “Rising Stars 40 Under 40.”
 
Dr. Jeffrey Biehler

Secretary

Jefry Biehler, MD, Chair of Pediatrics and attending physician at Miami Children’s Hospital. Dr. Biehler is an emergency room physician at MCH and also serves as Assistant Director of Education, Medical Clerks Director for the Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine at Florida International University. The hospital is the pediatric collaborator for the medical school. Dr. Biehler is board certified in pediatric emergency services and is a longstanding medical leader at MCH.
