When Zayia was 14 years old, she came to Nicklaus Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with pre-B acute lymphocytic leukemia.
Because of her illness, Zayia received a wish through Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, and she chose to spend her day giving back to other children undergoing cancer treatment at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Zayia created and delivered gift bags of comfort items to oncology patients. To make it even more special, Zayia’s wish was granted on her birthday!
