Brittany's Success Story

Published on: 01/09/2012
“Brittany was born 22 years ago with a life-threatening heart defect called a double outlet right ventricle. She was admitted to Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital, at birth because she needed immediate surgery to save her life. Because of her complex problem, she needed three other heart operations over the next seven years.

Brittany still struggles with her heart defect, and goes to Nicklaus Children's Hospital for follow-up visits. Recently, her doctors decided to put a pacemaker in to regulate her heart. Because of the amazing cardiologist and surgeons at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital, Brittany is alive today. We are forever grateful to Nicklaus Children's Hospital.”
