Patients at Nicklaus Children's Take Part in Hospital Prom

Published on: 05/25/2018

Teens who receive care at Nicklaus Children's Hospital were treated to a whimsical “under the stars” themed prom on May 19. The annual celebration is made possible thanks to the generosity of Adam and Chanin Carlin, longstanding donors of Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, as well as community supporters who donate their time and services to ensure the patients receive, hair, makeup and stylish outfits for the occasion. The patients' parents also had the opportunity to join in and watch their children via live stream from a separate celebration within the hospital.

“Seeing the happiness and excitement on each of the patients' faces was priceless,” said Adam Carlin. “Knowing that they were able to forget even for a moment about their illnesses and treatments was truly magical. We are so happy to play a role in creating memories for the patients at Nicklaus Children's Hospital and to celebrate with them an unforgettable night.”

The Carlin family has sponsored the event at Nicklaus Children's Hospital since 2014, as part of their personal vision to extend teen patients the opportunity to experience a prom celebration, despite health limitations, in a medically safe environment. Hospital volunteers provide medical support to the patients and their families. To read more, please visit https://give.nicklauschildrens.org/press-releases-carlin-prom-2018.
