Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has been awarded full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc., (AAHRPP).

Accreditation is an achievement that reflects Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of research participants. The hospital was the first pediatric facility in the state and one of the few children’s hospitals in the nation to receive accreditation from AAHRPP in 2009.

"We are honored to be once again recognized for excellence in pediatric research,” said Dr. Jennifer McCafferty, Director of the Miami Children’s Research Institute, the research arm of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Miami Children’s Health System. “This distinction demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering the highest standards of clinical data to serve the children in our community and beyond.”

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is home to one of the largest pediatric clinical research programs in the United States. The program actively participates in over 280 clinical research protocols including evaluating new medications and interventions for children with complex medical needs per year.
