In-Room Food Service for Patients

Broward Health’s Department of Food and Nutrition provides your child with tasty and nutritious meals to support their individual needs and preferences. To contact the department, dial extension 335626.

A parent/caregiver at the bedside of pediatric patients will receive a complimentary meal tray (breakfast, lunch, dinner), while their child is hospitalized.

• Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Lunch: 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Gift Shop

Television

Your television offers a variety of channel options. If you have questions on how to operate the remote, please contact your care assistant or the nursing staff.

Get Well Network

To help you stay connected and informed, Nicklaus Children’s is pleased to offer the Get Well Network in inpatient rooms. This service, available through your in-room television screen, offers many resources, including:

• Email and internet access, including access to our interactive website
• Entertainment (television, movies and games!)
• Our in-house NCHSTV station can be viewed on channel 36
• Spiritual programming available on channel 52, including a live Catholic Mass and Ecumenical (all-faiths) Service. Learn more about our spiritual offerings.
• Information on keeping your child safe in the hospital
• Educational videos related to your child’s specific health needs
• Information on fun activities available for children at Nicklaus Children’s
• Information on hospital programs and services (food service and other conveniences)
• Opportunities to provide feedback on hospital care (compliments and concerns)

Your child can select a virtual pet therapy dog for their own in our Nicklaus Children’s AR Dogs app, available free through app stores for both Apple and Android devices. The AR Dogs app is recommended for children ages 4 and older, and features fun activities with an augmented reality pet.
