Teegan's Story
02/10/2017 — Once the Heart Program Team team met with Teegan and her family, the doctors realized that this was a case unlike any they had seen before.
From before birth she had been diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and then they realized that she had a little less than half a heart and only one lung. 

This is the story of how the Heart Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, determined to repair Teegan’s heart, used innovative techniques to figure out the best way to treat Teegan’s condition.

For an 11-month-old boy in Denver, ingesting marijuana may have triggered a heart problem that ultimately led to his death, according to a recent report of the case.

If the report's hypothesis is true, the case would mark the first time a person has died from a marijuana overdose. But the findings are far from definitive — as a single case, the report cannot prove that marijuana exposure was actually the cause of the infant's death.
