Playing and moving are critical components of how babies learn and explore the world around
them. Join us as we discuss the importance of play in a child’s development including positions,
appropriate toy recommendations, and the possible effects associated with the overuse of baby
equipment. Parents will gain the knowledge, insight, and confidence to promote healthy growth
and development for their child.
About the Speaker:
Tatiana S. Fernandez, DPT, PCS is a physical therapist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital West Kendall Outpatient Center. She received her doctorate degree in physical therapy at Florida International University. As a certified pediatric specialist and graduate of a pediatric physical therapy residency program, she provides evidence-based treatment interventions to all of her patients. Dr. Fernandez enjoys conducting and presenting clinical research at professional conferences and empowering parents to play an active role in their child’s development.
