25 Years of ExcellenceOur hallmark Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Nicklaus Children's Hospital is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year as South Florida’s first and most experienced center for children requiring blood or bone marrow transplantation. Since the program was founded in 1991, we have performed over 150 transplants with outcomes that are the best in the region.

At a young age, Bi’Yanie was diagnosed with sickle cell, a blood disorder that causes the cells to take on a crescent or sickle shape and can lead to very painful episodes called crises. Today, Bi’Yanie is getting stronger by the day, thanks to the bone marrow transplant she received at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
