Practical Updates and Cutting Edge Topics for Pediatricians

Nicklaus Children's Health System is proud to present the 54th Annual Pediatric Postgraduate Course to be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 through Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Diplomat Beach Resort in sunny Hollywood, Florida.

Whether this is your first time attending or your 54th, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field of pediatrics. A distinguished faculty will present state-of-the-art information in the prevention, pathophysiology and the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of the most prevalent pediatric and adolescent conditions. We hope you decide to join us in Miami for the 2019 conference and are confident that we will surpass your educational goals.

History

Every year, for the past 54 years, Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital, has presented an annual Pediatric Postgraduate Course (PPGC) -- a course that is regarded as the most established continuing, independent medical education program in the country.

This course stems from Nicklaus Children's Health System’s tradition of quality and excellence in health care for children and is academically tailored to advance the clinical and research aspects of pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Renowned faculty from all over the United States and the world are invited to participate and present the most recent advances to the practicing pediatrician that directly impacts the practice. It is here that approximately 700 participants, including pediatricians, family practitioners, residents/fellows, and ancillary staff members are exposed to the world’s foremost teachers who have proven ability to translate theoretical information to the practical level of day-to-day pediatric care.

This course, “Perspectives in Pediatrics”, serves as the centerpiece for the Continuing Medical Education Program at Nicklaus Children's Health System, which includes weekly Grand Rounds, and Radiology Conference. The PPGC provides education in all areas of pediatrics including topics such as Metabolic Diseases, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nutrition, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Infectious Diseases, Emergency and Critical Care Medicine through its General Sessions and Symposiums/Workshops.

MOC Part 2 Points

A portion of the CME program will be approved by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) for 10 MOC Part 2 Self-Assessment Points. Only physicians certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and its specialties can claim the 10 MOC Part 2 points.

InterContinental Miami Hotel

One of the Most Distinguished Names Among Miami Luxury Hotels…

Built in 1982, the InterContinental® Miami soars majestically into the skyline on Chopin Plaza and adjacent to Bayfront Park, located at the confluence of Biscayne Bay and Miami River. Boasting the only lobby in the world built around a work of art, the hotel’s 18-foot, 70-ton Spindle sculpture made of travertine marble by sculptor Henry Moore is the breathtaking focal point of a grand lobby constructed in Italian marble slabs and precious African wood. The hotel was originally designed to be a casino but never operated as such. Instead, it has earned a reputation as Florida’s premier luxury hotel, now an iconic part of Miami history after more than 25 years under the exclusive InterContinental® brand.

Soaring 34 stories above gleaming Biscayne Bay, InterContinental® Miami bayfront hotel provides luxury accommodations with panoramic views of this vibrant city.
