Nancy Humbert, Senior Vice President of Outpatient Services.
Mrs. Humbert is responsible for overseeing the management and strategic development of the Hospital’s nine outpatient centers situated in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties as well as future site expansion. Mrs. Humbert is also responsible for the Telemedicine Operations.
Mrs. Humbert joined Miami Children’s Hospital in January 2007 and has overseen various departments during this time, providing leadership and management of the departments of Marketing and Public Relations, Physician Outreach, Government Relations and Strategic Business Planning, Business Development and Hospitality as well as the hospital’s growing ambulatory services. During her tenure, Mrs. Humbert has led initiatives that have had a pivotal impact on the hospital and healthcare system, including implementing and embedding a standardized operating calendar and expanding the Hospital’s network of outpatient centers while enhancing the culture of service and hospitality. She has led consumer-driven initiatives that have positively impacted patient satisfaction. Mrs. Humbert successfully led all public policy and advocacy initiatives from 2007-2013.
Prior to joining the Miami Children’s Hospital family, Mrs. Humbert served as the Deputy Secretary for Health for the Florida Department of Health from 2004 2007. Her areas of responsibility included the Office of Public Health Nursing, the Division of Emergency Medical Operations, Public Health Laboratories, Office of Statewide Research and the Division of Health Access and Tobacco. In the role of Deputy Secretary, Mrs. Humbert was one of four deputies who collectively provided oversight to 16,000 employees and a two billion dollar budget. Mrs. Humbert also served as the State Public Health Nursing Director and was the first Women’s Health Officer for Florida during that same timeframe. For a brief time during her tenure as Deputy Secretary for Health, Mrs. Humbert also served as interim Deputy for Children’s Medical Services (CMS). Between 1990 and 2004, Mrs. Humbert served in various capacities at the local Department of Health in Miami. Mrs. Humbert has 22 years in healthcare leadership roles, 12 of which are at the executive level.
Mrs. Humbert holds a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Florida State University (FSU) and a Master’s in nursing from Florida International University (FIU) and is licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in family-centered pediatrics.
