April Andrews-Singh, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and General Counsel.
Mrs. Andrews-Singh is responsible for leadership of the overall legal operations of the health system including the Hospital, multiple ambulatory centers and other affiliated entities. Mrs. Andrews-Singh is licensed to practice law in Florida and Ohio as well as licensed to practice nursing in Florida. Upon graduation from nursing school in 1998, Mrs. Andrews-Singh began to practice as a neurosurgical critical care nurse at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from law school and passing both the Ohio and Florida bar exams, Mrs. Andrews-Singh began her legal career in Florida in private practice, focusing on health care regulation and certificate of need.
While in private practice Mrs. Andrews-Singh also spent time as a registered lobbyist and worked in Tallahassee on health care related matters. In 2003, Mrs. Andrews-Singh began working at Cleveland Clinic Hospital as Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Since 2003, Mrs. Andrews-Singh has held increasingly responsible positions within the legal/regulatory compliance area. She has focused exclusively on the area of pediatric hospitals/care providers since 2007. Mrs. Andrews-Singh is an adjunct professor at Florida International University and teaches courses on Health Care Law and Policy and Values, Ethics and Conflict Resolution.
In addition, Mrs. Andrews-Singh holds active roles in many organizations including the American Health Lawyers Association, the Florida Bar Association and the Health Care Compliance Association.
