Ambulatory Services

Description:

The student, under direct physician supervision, will participate in the diagnosis and treatment plan for emergency and outpatient cases.


Education Objectives:

After appropriate orientation on the inpatient service, the student should be sufficiently grounded in the basics of pediatric history taking and in physical examination to participate in ambulatory service activities.

The primary aim of teaching in this service is the establishment of a diagnosis and plan for management without the admission of the patient to the hospital. The management of well patients and their guidance are emphasized.

Evaluation:

All history and physical examinations will be monitored by PL3 or attending, and their diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and plan will be assessed and graded on a scale of 1-5
