Dr. Mario Antonio Reyes is a hospital-based pediatricians at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Through the Hospitalist Program, Dr. Reyes and his colleagues provide personal, coordinated care to children during their inpatient stay in Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Reyes earned his medical degree at Instituto Superior de Ciencias Medicas, Villa Clara, Cuba, and completed his residency and fellowship in pediatrics/neonatology at the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Medicas, Havana, Cuba. He received postgraduate residency training in pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Nicklaus Children's Hospital), and completed a Comprehensive Review Program in medical education at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Reyes has taught on neonatology and other pediatric topics in Managua, Nicaragua, San Jose, Costa Rica, and Miami, Florida. He has participated in scientific congresses, and published several articles in professional publications. He was also a member of the international medical squad that joined the Costa Rican Red Cross to provide assistance following a 1991 earthquake in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.
