Director, Cardiac Non-Invasive Imaging
Dr. Cecilio “Leo” Lopez re-joins The Heart Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital as the Medical Director of Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging. Prior to joining Nicklaus Children’s, Dr. Lopez served as the Director of Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Imaging at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Lopez received his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his fellowship in cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Since beginning his career in 1994, Dr. Lopez has performed more than 20,000 echo imaging studies. Dr. Lopez enjoys seeing complex congenital heart diseases and also has special clinical interests in ventricular function and quality improvement in cardiac imaging.
Dr. Lopez is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric cardiology.
