Dr. Ramos joined Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA)
, part of Miami Children’s Health System, in 2016, becoming PSA Section Chief for Pediatric Infectious Diseases and continuing to serve as the Medical Director of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases
at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He has served as chairman of the Infection Control Committee at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital since 1984 and is the current hospital epidemiologist. Dr. Ramos earned his medical degree from the University of Santiago in Spain, followed by postgraduate training at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He completed pediatric residencies at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Driscoll Children’s Hospital, along with a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Texas Medical School.
Dr. Ramos is the author of multiple professional articles, a frequent speaker on disease-related topics and moderator of the hospital’s annual pediatric postgraduate course. His special interests include rapid diagnosis of viral infections and treatment of immunocompromised patients. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and board certified in pediatric infectious diseases.
Dr. Ramos sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
