Dr. Rosa-Olivares is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA)
, the physician-led group practice of Miami Children’s Health System. He has been on staff as an attending physician at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital since 1999. Dr. Rosa-Olivares currently serves as the medical director of the Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Care Centers, as well as the Nicklaus Children’s Urgent Care Centers. He also functions as medical director for the Children’s Medical Services (CMS), South region. In addition, Dr. Rosa-Olivares sits on the board of Pediatric Specialists of America and is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Dr. Rosa-Olivares earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus in San Juan. He completed both his residency in general pediatrics and a fellowship in ambulatory pediatrics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Rosa-Olivares also holds a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Barry University in Miami, Florida. His clinical interests include health care transition and the management of children with special health care needs.
Dr. Rosa-Olivares is board certified in general pediatrics. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has conducted research in areas related to public health, preventive medicine and behavioral medicine. He is frequently interviewed by the media as a subject-matter expert.
