Dr Caicedo received his medical degree at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. He completed his pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital. He completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University, during that time he focused his basic science research on Obesity, Appetite Control and Bariatric surgery. He presented his work at the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition meeting; he also designed a new protocol for early feeds after Gastrostomy tube placement. Subsequently he became an Assistant Professor/Consultant at Hospital Metropolitano de Quito-Ecuador where he taught the Pediatric residents on the basic of Gastroenterology, he was part of the new Liver Transplant Team. He is Board Certified and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. His area of interest are : Obesity, Food allergies and IBD.
