What is Jarcho-Levin syndrome?

Jarcho-Levin syndrome is a disorder that causes problems with the bones of the spine and ribs. These problems in turn lead to breathing problems and other abnormalities. It’s a genetic disorder that babies are born with.


What causes Jarcho-Levin syndrome?

Jarcho-Levin syndrome is related to abnormalities in the genes. It’s a hereditary condition that is passed down from parents to their children.


What are the symptoms of Jarcho-Levin syndrome?

The physical deformities of the skeleton are the primary symptoms of Jarcho-Levin syndrome. These include problems with the spine and ribs. These issues can make breathing problems and lung infections more likely. Other symtoms can include malformations related to the skulls, as well as problems with other parts of the body.


What are Jarcho-Levin syndrome care options?

There is no cure for Jarcho-Levin syndrome. Treatment is focused on treatments and therapies that allow patients to live the best life possible with the disease.
