Mr. Alex Soto has provided longstanding guidance to Nicklaus Children’s Health System, having served since 2009 as a key member of several health system boards and committees, including chairing the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital board for a four-year term ending in 2018. Mr. Soto is currently board chairman of Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System, and continues to serve on the hospital board.
Now retired, Mr. Soto was previously president and chief executive officer of Insource Inc., a Miami-based insurance and financial services firm. Insource was founded through the 1997 merger of Mr. Soto’s insurance agency, Pennekamp & Soto, with Thomas & Cook Insurance, Inc., and Worley, Humphrey & Ball, Inc.
Mr. Soto was a member of the Archdiocese of Miami Community Trust for more than 30 years and has held leadership roles with the Florida Association of Insurance Agents and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA). In addition, he was the 2009 recipient of the IIABA’s Woodworth Memorial Award for Outstanding Service to the Insurance Industry.
Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA) is the physician group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. Led by physicians, PSA employs more than 250 pediatric specialists and subspecialists with a regional, national and international presence, bringing lifelong health and hope to children and families through innovative and compassionate care at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and its outpatient and care centers located throughout South Florida.
